Self imposed expectations

~ by Irmi L

It's simpler than our overworked, overwhelmed, tired minds make it. Nobody's expecting you to be at 100% health tomorrow, or to have reached your body goals by COB.

Drop the pressure and self-imposed expectations. Calm your nervous system. Feel it. Are you breathing? You've been hard on yourself, you've pointed at your failures over and over, confirming your fears.

What if you tried closing your eyes and say thank you to every cell of your body for working so hard every day to get you going and do your stuff?

What if you started understanding how hard each cell is working to make you go about your day? If you can appreciate a co-worker or apply compassion on a stranger's situation, it will change your life if you applied that same care and understanding to each cell.

Once a day, in the morning, close your eyes and thank every cell in your body for the work they do. You can say it in your head. Just be sure to send the compassion to yourself. Then make choices throughout the day to help them do their work. Nobody's expecting perfect. Just to do better than yesterday.
